Japan has accepted around 2,000 Ukrainian evacuees since the beginning of Russia’s invasion, but mental health infrastructure to support them is lacking according to Vickie Skorji, TELL’s Lifeline director and a key figure in the development of the organization’s Psychological First Aid (PFA) programs.
“If we can help provide some structure by training as many people as possible in PFA, and they can train others,” Skorji says, “we can empower everyone along the way.”
